- Kate Middleton was recently spotted wearing a stack of four rings on her wedding finger during a visit to Scotland.
- The Princess of Wales' stack includes a relatively new addition, thought to be gift from Prince William upon completing chemotherapy.
- Kate's largest ring is a sapphire once owned by Princess Diana, which Prince William proposed with.
Kate Middleton has more rings than she knows what to do with, so she's taken to wearing them all at once! As noted by Harper’s Bazaar, the Princess of Wales wore a four-ring stack—including a relatively new addition—while visiting the National Curling Academy in Stirling, Scotland, on January 20.
This is notably the first time this year that Kate has stepped out with her sapphire engagement ring, as she only wore a pair of infinity rings while hosting a reception for the England Women's rugby team last week.
So...what's the deal with all these rings? First up is Kate's iconic and instantly recognizable sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which previously belonged to Princess Diana. The Princess of Wales has been pairing this stunner with her Welsh gold wedding band for years.
FYI, the elegant gold band is made from a kilogram of Welsh gold that the Queen was given for her 60th birthday. A spokesman told The BBC ahead of the royal wedding, "The gold was given to Prince William by The Queen shortly after the couple were engaged. It has been in the family's possession for some years and has been in the care of the royal jewelers."
’Kay, so on top of her engagement ring and wedding band, Kate wears two eternity bands. One diamond band is believed to have been a gift from Prince William after the birth of their son, Prince George. But Kate's newest addition? A gorgeous sapphire-and-diamond eternity band that first showed up in the video announcing the completion of her chemotherapy—leading to speculation that it was a commemorative gift from Prince William.
Gorgeous, and so special. And speaking of royal jewels...
